"BLESSED", the latest offering from skateboard clothing conglomerate Supreme, has indisputably gnarly video parts for the entire duration, and even when Strobeck's formal choices get strange, they're ultimately satisfying.
Like the recently released GX1000 video Roll Up (2018), "BLESSED" has no names or (inter)titles, only bright-eyed faces and bloodied bodies in motion. It's antithetical to the 21st-century, 3-minute internet banger we've grown accustomed to. And yet, it's completely different from the format Spike Jonze introduced in Video Days (1991).
God damn it Lambbpthinmost. This is such a masterpiece and I hate that word. Not a single fucking frame is wasted. Love the way the doors punctuate every scene. Love the way all three characters spent most of the film sprawled out or lying down, sweating and puking all over various objects of fine art.
