As a huge fan of the source material (yes, the comic Toxic which was kind of a spin-off from 2000AD), this very much gets a hall pass from me. Instead of being annoyed by the shoddy cgi and the occasional hammy performances, I find it all endearing - this is that best friend that your wife wishes you'd stop hanging out with but you still get a kick outa hanging out with them.
