If awards friendly prestige dramas were automobiles, Tár would be the best German sports car on the market. Sleek, sophisticated, goes fast as the wind when you put the foot down and it has a beast of an engine. That engine is Blanchet’s performance which is incredible and around her is one of the most impeccably well crafted character studies in recent memory. Like the music the characters never stop talking about this film will some day be affirmed as a classic
