- You sound just like your mother!
- I do not!
Mamma Mia! : also known as, my comfort musical! I mean, it’s got an amazing cast, a gorgeous aesthetic, and features a compilation of ABBA songs. It’s fabulous.
This film makes me feel so nostalgic and warm that I can’t help but watch it once a month. The plot is simple, yet so well - crafted, that it never tires. The humour is great fun, and played on really well throughout. The soundtrack, in my opinion, is actually better than the original tracks — they’re just so upbeat and catchy!
Meryl Streep is fantastic here, as she always is, but she is nothing without Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, and Amanda Seyfried too. It’s the cast as an ensemble that really make this film what it is.
I think it’s time to run away to Greece, fall in love with three beautiful men, and run my own hotel!
