This is A Series Of Unfortunate Events if it took place in the 80s.
Night life has always been a big part of my life, I've always had a fascination with the glowing street lights and the 24/7 open diners and After Hours explores all the crazy shit that can happen in one night. With that Scorsese touch added along with a plot that is all about nothing it is one of those films that I wanted to never end.
I loved this movie so damn much. It dealt with the stress and hecticness of real life and chimed it in with some spicy craziness. It's all about LIVING. How many people can this guy meet in one night is the crack safe goal of the screenwriter. It balances dark humor, quirkiness, stress, slapstick, and drama perfectly and the characters shine out so glisteningly.
One of Scorseses overlooked films and one of my personal favorites (Already? Yeah it's just that good.) from him. You can't NOT like this movie. You're just having too much damn fun.
