Not only did this rewatch cement my love for this so strongly (deserves a 10 out of 5) but this rewatch gripped me so hard, I sat truly detached from reality. The 2h16min runtime whizzed by so fast, I sat shocked when the gut wrenching finale came to fruition. The way P******* shot this is just.... fucking breathtaking. This actually made me terrified of John Cassavetes. How tf do you do that?? Mia Farrow is mesmerizing, that phone booth scene is very important to my psyche. I think the dream sequence is one of the most important scenes of the 60s and in my cinephilia life. I’ve never seen anything like it. I can keep going on & on & on & on about every scene, every character, every shot. This is just, without a doubt, one of the greatest films ever made and for my money? This gives you EVERRRRYTHING you could want from a movie. Still holds up gorgeously today too, unreal how much I fell head over heels this time.
