Viewing 3 got me to bump this to 5 stars, finally. Some of the most rough & tough filmmaking ever to be conceived. I also lobby it as one of, if not the MOST underrated movie ever made. You have to see it to believe and yet you can’t even believe it when you’re seeing it. William Friedkin made one seriously unrelenting motion picture here that defies the 1977 release date, defies the box office failing it received, & defies the magical act of moviemaking all in 2 hours. I love, love, love this film. So much! Oh & Tangerine Dreams score just floods the soundscapes with sexy synthesizers until the fucking greatest last 10 seconds in any movie. Watch it for the ending alone and that needle drop of credits music, FUCK!
