A bank teller discovers that he's actually an NPC inside a brutal, open world video game.
I wasn’t expecting a sweet romantic tale from a Shawn Levy film, but this is really good, although it’s Taika Waititi who completely steals the movie. I know want every movie to have him in it somewhere. He was brilliant.
It's a great concept. What if the Non-Playable Character in a video game did not know he was a Non-Playable Character in a video game? Reminds me of Wreck-It Ralph but a little less magical (in the sense that the movie tells the story of the technical reason Free Guy is alive).
It's a character straight up Ryan Reynolds alley, just like Deadpool but toned down to one (and yet still worth watching).
It’s a really enjoyable film with a nice warm message at its heart.
