Total clusterfuck of a film, it got easier with time to tell which film each scene was taken from as it kind of became less coherent as it went on in a way I adored.

Lots of ninjas, lots of kicking and punching the air. A bad ass middle aged ninja with a moustache and eyeliner who rescues his wife from crabs. He also has a Garfield phone.

Absolute mess and also I want to give it 6 stars and watch it all over again, but the kids are back at school so I need to be awake early

About as dark as Serpent's Path under its absurdly funny surface. Eyes of the Spider like its twin film really hurts to watch. It's really amazing what Kiyoshi Kurosawa and his cast and crew did over a couple of weeks

A video tape played over and over. On one screen then multiple, breaking the viewer like it broke him. Bullets flying and I don't know who's getting any in this song of low budget industrial mourning. About as effectively disturbing as Kurosawa's Cure if not more so in places due to the subject matter. I really can't handle stories about kids being hurt since becoming a dad, so maybe I shouldn't have watched it. Makes me feel rotten inside and I don't want to dream tonight.

Revisiting another Satô film, always fun and disturbing. The title Re-Wind makes much more sense. I love the way he plays around with scenes appearing on screens within films and being recorded, kind of adds another level of degradation to what you're watching. It's seedy stuff no doubt but it's good high quality sleaze that unsettles and fascinates.

Satô's sex scenes are both erotic and disturbing, they don't feel like ordinary pornography. This film is far more voyeuristic, the lighting…

    (Cabal Cut)

Definitely should have watched this sooner, weird and wonderful fantasy horror from the creator of Hellraiser.

Clive Barker's celebration of outcasts, freaks, monsters is a fantastic thing to behold. Going to read the book (Cabal) as soon as I can. I desperately need more of Barker's vision and voice, I'll have to read some of the Books of Blood too.

The way most of the real horrific moments come from humans in positions of power is something I…
