After watching Bohemian Rhapsody it was (though wrong) inevitable to make some bad expectations for what this movie could be. But this has been one of the best surprises of the year: a very personal and creative take on one great superstar affected by his decisions, his fame and his relationships. Something that, in some way, Bohemian Rhapsody was and wasn't.

What a surprise this movie was! Very refreshing, not too cliché but without leaving some of the romcoms classic clichés. The chemestry between characters was on point, something that tells me that surely this was a very funny movie while in production.

And what better experience than listening to Frank Ocean in Dolby Sound <3

Maybe its slow, strange pace is what makes this film so interesting, so deep, so scarily real? Beautiful photography and direction, those sets and music gave it all to build that ambient, but its characters, their dialogs, their interactions, made this something truly special. It's very provocative, very thoughtful, I left the theater full of questions and not every one of them related to the movie.

It is great to see directors daring the genre by taking risks when stepping into the shoes of films like The Witch, while using some of the common horror tropes.

A beautifully and carefully crafted movie with amazing photography, framing, production design and incredible performances: I hope that Toni Collette gets an award recognition this next season and I'm looking forward to see more of Milly Shapiro.

    One this year's best.
