Jojo Rabbit

Jojo Rabbit ★★★★

Jojo Rabbit is a drama comedy directed by Taika Waititi and is about Jojo, a boy in Hitler youth during World War 2, discovering that hos mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their home. I finally got to see this movie and it was fantastic. Taika Watiti’s comedy is amazing. Every joke hit on the right moments and this movie was hilarious. It’s easily one of the best comedies of the year. But this film does get serious half way through. Not saying that there aren’t any jokes in the second half of the movie but it gets real. Taila Waititi as imaginary Hitler is the best part of this movie. He really exceeded my expectations with this character. I never thought I’d care for a Hitler character in a movie but I did. I have one issue with this movie. There are scenes that really took me out of the movie. I don’t know why but they just pushed me out of the world this movie presented. It’ll probably get better on rewatch. But this is a great movie that’s worth checking out. It’s funny and has a simple but great story to tell.
Verdict: A-
