  lynch knew that he needed the creepiest guy, the craziest guy and the hottest lady and casted the creepiest guy (willem dafoe), the craziest guy (nic cage), and the hottest lady (laura dern) perfectly. one of his more straightforward movies that starts right in the action, and is really wild.

  what a beautifully crafted movie. theres nothing you can't love about kyle MacLachlan and laura dern. and dennis hopper's performance? iconic. the scenes inside dorothys apartment are so incredibly shot and it is literally the coolest apartment ive ever seen.

  while the grain of the film was one of my favourite parts, i cant help but feel like the camera itself should have been more of an intentional character. the perspective changes throughout from mainly stagnant, to point of view, to some panning shots, capturing a story through the ambience of setting rather than plot-driven character dialouge. a very interesting take on horror, similar to blair witch, cloverfield or paranormal activity without an intention of recording. using the grain to…

  absolutley incredible. brilliant action, beautiful sets, incredible gore. an incredible addition to the Grindhouse genre without actually attacking a marginalised community? viva la swissploitation!
  EDIT: you can only watch it legally through their website (its like $9 to rent it), I highly highly recommend supporting them because they made it without any studio or streaming service and it was completely crowdfunded, so please support the artists. Hopefully it'll get at least a small theatre run, because it would be amazing in a theatre.
