My admiration and interest in PT Anderson's work started with a rewatch of Magnolia, and I was delighted to find out There will be blood was of the same caliber.
While Magnolia featured a whole interacting web of personalities derailing, this one focused with great detail on the protagonist. It's an utterly intriguing story about the ingredients required to conceive and fuel madness, and to a larger extent about the nature of ever-expanding materialism condoned by religion.
Once again, the dramatic nature was reinforced by an excellent soundtrack, a feature I miss too often on otherwise interesting films.
