performances are good, there are nice moments of silence and tossed off remarks, but it’s in shambles the entire time and so so stupid. I could be very mean but just…this would be a whole lot better if it was less eager to impress, a hot boy trait sorely lacking from this mess. there’s just not a lot going on here, and PTA’s romanticism is shallow and too insecure to be charming in its goofiness. that running and colliding visual motif is the first time in over a decade he’s felt like a hack, and he’s no longer frenetic enough in his form to make those indulgences work.
