The Devils 1971
in Times Such As These, finding comfort where one can. laughing, drinking, taking, devouring, plague and devastation and authority at the gates. a rambunctious and obscene parade of hypocrisy—of the church, the state, the self—and a scouring, unsubtle indictment of ambition. just as bawdy, perverse and preposterous as its notorious reputation would have you believe, gonzo as it is brilliant. the fires rage, the people rejoice, justice is done, now go in peace. and oblivion.

Death Powder 1986
ENG: I like to think of the figure of Guernica as the cyber and sci-fi representation of the Femme Fatale. She exploits the human body and at the same time poisons it with her hallucinogenic dust. With this horror film, the progenitor of the Cyberpunk genre together with Tetsuo, we are at the dawn of the Japanese trend, objectively the best, since it is the one that most manages to visually render the philosophy of what you want to represent.…

Species 1995
I haven’t watched a movie in awhile, but I’m still here! I’ve been reading the Dune saga, and damn, are those books dense. I’ve got one book left, so hopefully I’ll be more active once I finish.
This was fun! A little boring since the plot structure kept the pacing at one speed the whole time, but decent overall. The team of scientists doesn’t have time to flesh out or develop until the third act, so most of my enjoyment…

Stone Cold 1991
Movie marathon 3/6: "Stone Cold (1991)"
"God forgives, The Brotherhood doesn't."
Basically the most agressive violent masculine testosterone-filled action film ever made. If you love eighties overstatements like "Cobra (1986)" but even more over the top with muscled bikers, copious amounts of nudity, some of the best blood squibs ever put to film and creative action setpieces, then this flick needs to be added to your action diet.
NFL player Brian Bosworth starred as Joe Huff/ John Stone going undercover…

A Room with a View 1985
it's a james-ivory-adapting-e.m-forster kind of a day :^) i'm mad that i found this more enjoyable and easy to sit through than maurice because i don't find this story nearly as emotionally stirring, but i am not immune to a bunch of silly twinks and helena bonham carter just being goofy. it's about the ensemble cast 🤌🏻

Babylon 1980
Deeply influential and eye-opening, Franco Rosso's Babylon remains one of the most raw and visceral depictions of Black British life. A gritty social realist film about racism and xenophobia, with a booming soundtrack and an electric rhythm. Heavy instances of police brutality and racial prejudice occur throughout what is effectively a hangout flick that celebrates dub and reggae music. Powerfully rebellious and ahead of its time.

The System 1964
Michael Winner and Oliver Reed 😍😍😍, yeah I'm gonna love a black and white movie about Reed and his pack of hooligans try and run through girls only to fall in love.

The Lost City 2022
Way more hit-or-miss than I expected, comedy wise. Some hilarious moments but lots of jokes that fell flat, went for too long or had weird timing. Don't think it's the actors fault though, they were all great. Awesome to see Tatum in a comedic role again, Bullock is charismatic as ever and Radcliffe is fun.
The plot is kinda generic but it's not something that matters to me in a film like this as long as it's funny, which it… -
Zombie Flesh Eaters 1979
A lot of the technical quality of this movie isn't good i.e. the sound and film but there is a lot of redeemable elements to this but it takes awhile to get there. The practical effects just seem to get better as the flick moves along but so does the story as it seems to tighten the material at the same time keeping me more enraptured to the theme. I honestly have to say at times I felt cold chills…

Weathering with You 2019
November in the ocean. There are subject matters in here that contain serious sensitivity, but ultimately get stripped down for predestined romance. Saccharine textures has it's place around the seas, but this is just too much for me. Makoto Shinkai's message has a sense of selfish uncertainty, telling a worth in love that only mattered amidst a world that may have changed in a negatively affecting way for everyone else. There's nothing wrong in loving these kinds of stories, as…
