Tenet

Tenet ★★★

I understood very little, I heard even less and I felt absolutely nothing on an emotional level.

However, Nolan sure knows how to compose an action scene and you can best believe he supports them with beautiful visuals. After the tiring, informational dumping ground first third of the runtime I decided to try and experience the film more as a form of visceral art, and that was far more rewarding. If you’re reading this review and you haven’t seen the film yet, go into it expecting The Tree of Life but with spies and time inversion, you’ll have a blast. I want to say that I believe I’ll greatly enjoy and understand the film on a second watch, but I know that’s exactly what Nolan wants to hear and precisely what he aims to make his audience feel, so part of me doesn’t want to let him have this one.
