I originally was going to make a joke about how this was just a prequel to Three Colors: Red but it would have been too obvious.
I’d say that one of Krzysztof Kieslowski’s biggest strength of filmmaking that I’ve seen from him is his ability to take one color and make it fit the narrative without it being jarring to the eyes. Even with a color like gold he still makes it feel so comforting and cozy. It just sucks I couldn’t really connect with this one like I did with the Three Colors Trilogy since it’s basically in the same vein as those.
