It started off somewhat promising but then Theresa Russell shows up. She simply can not act. And she and Reynolds have zero chemistry. The best thing in this flick was Ted McGinley’s yuppie asshole character...you’ve been warned.
Pretentious, excruciating, slightly disturbing; but also idyllic, pretty, romantic. Overall, I have to "thumbs down" it because the bad outweighs the good. WHY do all the critics love this? What am I missing? I'm all about gay, coming-of-age flicks but this one was slow, uneventful, unbelievable. And has no one else been creeped out by a 15 or 16 year old teen boy having a fling with a 22 or 23 year old adult man, and with the express approval…
