Flickers in Time’s review published on Letterboxd:
Not to be confused with Broadway Melody or Gold Diggers of Broadway from the same year. This is notable primarily for Lejos's use of crane shots to be break up the staginess normal in the early years of the talkies. Unfortunately, the technique seems to be limited to production numbers and actually seems to take away from a good view of the tap dancing employed. The musical bits are combined with a romance - natch - and a gangland/bootlegging backstage story. A curio.
