golden age of mexican cinema

the golden age was an important time period for mexican cinema that happened between the years 1930-1969. dolores del río, pedro infante, cantinflas, maría félix, jorge negrete, silvia pinal, tin-tan, arturo de cordova and pedro armendáriz were one of the most bankable (and iconic) stars and many of their films are still seen today: doña barbara, maría candeleria, viridiana and el rey del barrio, to name a few.
