• Ouija: Origin of Evil

    Ouija: Origin of Evil

I only remember that I thought the first Oujia movie was terrible so why bother watching the sequel. But to my surprise it was mentioned in a book about ghost stories and even got some praise. First of all, I like the 60's look. They've added some grain and cigarette burns digitally which is a bit gimmicky but it's not overdone. The movie is more character driven than most of these modern creepy ghost movies and offers a few chilling…

  • Gamera vs. Guiron

    Gamera vs. Guiron

Okay for the silly and cheap looking alien planet and the (rather brutal for a kids movie) kaiju fights. But the rest could barely keep my interest.

  • Prey for the Devil

    Prey for the Devil

Very generic exorcisme stuff, the female exorcist angle is an okay one but not much is done with it. The rest is pretty by the numbers.

  • Shazam! Fury of the Gods

    Shazam! Fury of the Gods

I'm getting really tired of these huge supposedly funy superhero movies.

  • Everything Everywhere All at Once

    Everything Everywhere All at Once

Wow, waited quite a bit to watch this. And I did not expect to like it this much. Loved it!

  • Boston Strangler

    Boston Strangler

A just okay movie that could have been amazing with the right people on board. A shame because this story deserved a Zodiac like quality movie, which this isn't (although it tries). I just wasn't engaged and I think that's mainly due to weak character development and not taking the time for that.

  • The Empty Man

    The Empty Man

When the prologue ended I was fully on board, but then it suddenly feels like we are still getting that Slender man / unban legend movie that you thought you were getting based off the title and generic poster. Don't worry they were only fucking with you, give it a little more time and you'll be back on board. But you're not knowing where you are going and you are going slow! Yeah it's long but that's okay, it's looking (and sounding) great. I really dug this!

  • Smile

Quite predictable for the more seasoned horrormovie watchers and it failed to get creepy with only loud jump scares every 10 minutes. It borrow ideas from It follows and Ringu (or some of the other J-horror that came after that) but doesn't do it as well as those movies. Not a complete waste of your time though but but just don't expect to much.

  • The Invitation

    The Invitation

One of the blandest horror movies I've seen in a while. The location was spot on and that's the best thing I can say about it.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

While I don't even bother to see all of the marvel stuff these days I had to see check this one out for sure, Gunn managed to make two of the best marvel movies and kind of does it again. Good characters, lots of hart, on point comedy and a some (to much) emotion. Not as good as the first two but a nice way to close the trilogy.

  • The Seventh Curse

    The Seventh Curse

First rewatch since I saw this on VHS for my b-movie review website. I can't recall what I rated it back in those days but this is b-movie gold! Action, bad dialogue, gore, kung fu fights and just overall weirdness crammed in 80 minutes. Big change you'll have a smile on your face during it, I sure had.

  • Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre

    Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre

Yeah, this was very plain. Could have been a Mission Impossible spin-off of sorts. Statham does what he does best but Hugh Grant is having fun with his larger than life superstar arms dealer and is easily the best thing about this movie. Had fun, will never watch it again.
