Killer's Kiss, Stanley Kubrick's 2nd film, is definitely a step up from the slog of a movie that was Fear and Desire, but he still has some ways before becoming the master filmmaker we know him today.
It's a pretty straightforward story involving a forbidden romance and one man's determination to save his love from her creepy, abusive old boss, and while there's seeds of a good movie in here, especially with some of the filmmaking which Kubrick really got to shine here especially with some of the edits, cuts and punchers, it's still a movie with a story that didn't fully invest me with weak characterizations and poor exposition dumps to tell the story.
Kubrick definitely improved on this feature, but it's far from the top-tier in his filmography.
