    Watchmen 2009

    Kaptainkool2002

    ★★★★★ Rewatched by Kaptainkool2002 29 Sep 2023

I watched the director's cut of "Watchmen", and it's a massive improvement over the theatrical cut as it adds more exposition and dialogue, character development, action scenes, and even additional scenes with Hollis Mason/Nite Owl. I would definitely recommend this cut of the film to newcomers moreso than the theatrical version.

You saved my life, you made it beautiful.

Such a heart wrenching, grounded, genuine story on accepting the conditions life lays out for us. It’s so incredible in portraying the fear of losing something so dear yet showcasing the beauty that still lies within.

Riz Ahmed has one of the best performances of the past decade and the sound design is one of the best i’ve ever experienced. Maybe one of the most powerful endings in film.

" there are the hands that made us and then there are the hands that guide the hands.. my beloved raccoon this story has been yours all along you just didn't know it "

was the perfect mix of happy, sad, and funny. I really Enjoyed learning about Rocket's history.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 could hardly be a better conclusion to this trilogy that now becomes one of the most complete, efficiently told stories in the MCU, despite some minor issues

💌: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are here to remind you that you’re still worthy of love, you’re not alone

The only way this beat the first is because of all the good cameos and the final action battles.

The 3rd act was the only good thing about this film. Jet Li just skipped out Willis and Arnold finally got some action!!! Chuck Norris takes the cake for best cameo he also used one of his jokes in the movie. But yeah best one so far out of the series!!

  • The Creator

    The Creator 2023

    AndrewC

    ★★★★ Watched by AndrewC 29 Sep 2023

Though it's technically true that The Creator is an all-too-rare original sci-fi action blockbuster, calling it "original" would honestly be a bit of a stretch given how much it takes from other sci-fi films (chiefly Blade Runner, The Terminator, and Avatar). However, that doesn't really bother me here all that much because in Gareth Edwards' hands, he's at least able to take all those influences and gather them into a highly entertaining and satisfying movie which certainly feels like a…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This is somehow exactly what I expected and yet I've been let down. This is so pretty, and impressive considering the budget. Most of blockbusters, if not all, from this year should learn how to do visuals on such a budget. Where this really falls apart is the story. The first 30 minutes is the most detailed and finished part of the story, yet it's not that great then. The more it went on the less we learned, which I…

    The Creator 2023

    Anas

    ★★★★ Watched by Anas 29 Sep 2023

In The Creator, visionary director Gareth Edwards returns to his indie roots after successful forays into blockbuster territory, delivering a visually stunning and thought-provoking science fiction narrative. The film masterfully weaves together elements reminiscent of "Blade Runner", "Star Wars", "Hearts of Darkness", and classic war movies, culminating in an ambitious cinematic experience.

For centuries, humanity has been its own worst enemy, yet it always seeks someone to blame for its actions and mistakes, punishing others for deeds they never committed.…

Bitch, Leatherface wasn't even in this, that was Mankind. And he only had one kill. Wtf. McConaughey was cool as Cyborg though, I guess.

Kills were uninspired. Leatherface was a joke. This was shit.

    Carlos Montalvo

★★★★ Watched by Carlos Montalvo 29 Sep 2023

“This is not retribution. It's a reawakening.”

By far the best of the sequels, Saw X still has its signature and iconic gory torture scenes. However, what separates this one from the other entries is the presence of John Kramer/Jigsaw and how his character is fully developed through this highly personal narrative of the character’s journey.

Consider me surprised. Saw X feels like a fresh, unique and thoughtful addition to the franchise in terms of its usual standards. Not only that it is the most personal Saw-film to this day, but it is shot in such a likeable manner.

    'We have a rope.'

If I had a nickel for every time a 2023 movie, that's the tenth instalment of a long running franchise, uses the roman numeral X in the title, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK. SOAP OPERA GOREFEST IS BACK. How did the same writers of the lame Jigsaw and Spiral, tighten up with Saw X?! It must be the Kevin Greutert touch,…
