Let's get the obvious out of the way - it's no Cube. Instead we take a great premise, remove the thriller aspect and add nonsensical sci-fi elements and a completely half-baked unexplained mystery element (i.e. who, what and why?).
One final thought, is "Simon" hungry all the time because he is really Nick Knight?
