    Adding this to my long-gestating film thesis that just because you (Lovecraft) did it first doesn’t mean you did it better (Annihilation).

    Recognizing that this is an adaptation of a book by a genre director, I’m not saying it *should* have been as good as Alex Garland’s masterwork, but I can see where he and author Jeff VanderMeer got a lot of their inspiration from.
