We Are the Strange

We Are the Strange ★★★

The level of creativity and experimentation here is impressive to say the least, and the combination gaming, 8 bit & found object visual aesthetic is consistent and inventive. I also loved the black, blue, white and red colour palette.

It's just such a pity that character development and story fell by the wayside.

Also, each frame is so crammed with visual information that it becomes overwhelming. I started feeling sleepy and had to take a break at the 1 hour mark.

If you wanted to make an argument that video gaming isn't Satanic, this isn't the film to back up your claims 😝 Sinister's attitudes towards women are appalling and the imagery is often very dark. It should come as no surprise that director M. Dot Strange provided voicework and music for Jimmy Screamerclauz's films.
