Matt Thomas’s review published on Letterboxd:
A film of two halves. The first possibly the best hour of drama I've seen. The second still excellent but (unavoidably) not as impactful - although if you can go into it cold there are still some surprises.
Brie Larson will be robbed if she doesn't get the Oscar. Her performance is both warm and heart-breaking. But the real soul of this film is Jacob Tremblay. Although obviously not 5 years old he's completely believable in a fairly complex role.
As a pair, their chemistry feels so genuine. They make you realise we're all in a room of sorts.
