• The Tragedy of Macbeth

    The Tragedy of Macbeth

this ruled. It was so nice of miss Kim K to let them film in her barren brutalist estate. I wish we could get an annual moody, contemplative Shakespeare like this.
Denzel’s Macbeth was fascinating, and this was top tier Frances. If she hadn’t already won recently for things I didn’t love I’d never shut up about her deserving the world for this.
Special shout outs to daddy Alex Hassell and the incredible Moses Ingram.

  • Mass

    Great performances, beautiful performances.
It gives both perspectives such grace and examined the issue with the severity it deserves, but I can’t help but feel it really wanted to be onstage.

Breeda Wool best supporting actress when?

  • Azor

watching felt like being a kid and you’re convinced there’s a monster under the bed and you can’t look but you’re sure so you’re terrified to move even an inch off the bed. The movie feels like you’re constantly on the edge of something happening, someone snapping or something blowing up, but then it backs off and breathes a little longer. like a thriller edging

Stephanie Cleau is so fabulous ugh

  • The 355

    The 355

okay, the story and everything anyone says is dumb, but besides that it’s fun! The action sequences were really great, especially because they’re all wearing iconic looks during them (the whole movie’s worth it just for Jess in the brown bangs). It’s like watching Cirque du Soleil, the talking is just a means to vaguely connect the beautiful set pieces, and I’m not complaining!!!
I wish we lived in a world where I could believe we’d get a sequel to this.
My first 2022 release and oof, what a start

  • Annette

    holy fuck I loved this.
Tick Tick…Boom is getting the treatment Annette deserved.
I can’t decide whether knowing nothing going in was good or not. Like, it constantly challenged my expectations, at least through the first half, and that’s fun, but maybe I could’ve enjoyed it and savored it more if I had just known a little more and my expectations were more accurate. Idk, I still enjoyed the hell out of it and I can’t wait to rewatch now that I’m on its page.

  • The Harder They Fall

    The Harder They Fall

    this slapped so hard.
the cast is absolutely bonkers, soundtrack is incredible, that final set piece was amazing, it’s gorgeous and this filmmaking is on another level. There are so many good things to say about it. But woof it’s long, and I finished it 5 minutes ago and could not tell you anything about any of these characters. It’s like, a really amazing movie despite it being a movie that’s just okay.

  • The Lost Daughter

    The Lost Daughter

like, why did you do that ?
this would be a perfect double feature with Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again

eta: its been a couple days and I can’t stop thinking about it.

  • The Power of the Dog

    The Power of the Dog

I’m gonna be honest, my brain is a little too smooth for this, but I understand it was amazing and I’ll give her her roses.
I knew nothing going in and was not expecting it to be SOoo horny. Like, the bathing cowboys, *chefs kiss*, and if a line of shirtless cowboys yelled slurs at me while I swished my hips past them, I’d be so hard I could pound granite. But the absolute queen of them all, that smoking…

  • Spider-Man: No Way Home

    Spider-Man: No Way Home

My sister really wanted to see it so I went with. It’s cute, it’s fun, but it feels very average marvel to me and I’m very confused by people saying this is one of their best. Like, what movie were y’all watching?
I appreciate how much they want Tom to be hot but no one in this is hotter than Willem.

  • West Side Story

    West Side Story

even better on second watch (maybe I can’t really say second considering how much I regrettably was asleep for last time).
I’ll forever love Tony Kushner for writing a gang of Jets that give the vibe they aggressively fist each other just out of frame.

  • Don't Look Up

    Don't Look Up

you can absolutely expect me to manipulate the dates on the diary later so I don’t have to remember this as my first movie of the new year
I still hated this but I watched with my sister who I thought would like it and she did. Like, I get why people like it and why they think it’s doing something, I just wish they could see it isn’t.
Jennifer and Cate are even better on rewatch though, it really is a gift when we get to see them do comedy

  • The Dig

    The Dig

honestly ridiculous that I had to wait until halfway through the movie to finally get Lily.
Love Carrie being a plant girlie
