• Prisoners

    Needs more Viola.
But everything else is really well executed.

  • Minari

One of the best of the year

Sweet and heartbreaking. Steven Yeun is incredible.

  • Almost Famous

    Almost Famous

Even Patrick Fugit’s pretty bad performance can’t ruin Cameron Crowe’s semi-autobiographical ride through 70s rock and roll.

Music is great. Billy Crudup is great. Movie is great.

  • Run

Aneesh Chaganty’s follow up to his amazing first feature, Searching, didn’t disappoint me. At all.

Fun, fast paced and full of some genuinely suspenseful moments and unexpected twists. Sarah Paulson and Kiera Allen kill it.

  • American Graffiti

    American Graffiti

    God tier soundtrack

  • Borat Subsequent Moviefilm

    Borat Subsequent Moviefilm

Tons of fun. Totally wild. Worthy successor. Very nice.

  • The Wolf of Snow Hollow

    The Wolf of Snow Hollow

Loved it. Hilarious and horrific while also being able to talk openly about masculinity and mental health. Nobody is doing it quite like Jim Cummings and its honestly inspiring to us young amateur filmmakers

  • The Plumber

    The Plumber

This reminded me of a script I was working on earlier in the year about an unhinged pizza delivery driver... but like way better

I gave up on that script awhile ago, but The Plumber has inspired me to go back and work on it some more

So thank you Alex and co, for a great watch and great inspiration

  • The Devil All the Time

    The Devil All the Time

Kinda all over the place from a structural standpoint but the characters/cast make for an harrowing albeit entertaining watch that worked for me, it won’t be for everyone though, that’s for sure.

Probably would’ve worked better as a mini series or something. I’d watch that

  • Zodiac

    Probably my favorite from Fincher.
    A pure masterwork.

  • Tangled

    Top 5 Disney no question

  • I'm Thinking of Ending Things

    I'm Thinking of Ending Things

So surreal and enigmatic in the most Kaufman way possible, gonna need multiple rewatches
