I have talked so much about this movie. I've been praising it for years now. And the funny thing is, it never gets any worse. In fact it manages to get better with each viewing. Nicolas Winding Refn managed to hit every right note. A simple story of a Driver trying to be a hero and trying to hold on to happiness while also hiding his darker self. It's a story told through connections the Driver builds and the atmosphere so perfectly set. The music enlightens everything and the cinematography tells a story itself. Often these two things are what make this movie feel like you're in another world. The Driver's world. It's dark and gruesome, but it also has it's moments of beauty and serenity. This was the movie that really changed the way I looked forward to experiencing film. It's perfect in every way for me.
