    feel like watching this at midday, like I did, is maybe a different vibe than seeing it past midnight which is clearly when it should be shown.

    High-Camp rock opera that's overflowing with pomp, both silly and sublime.

    too stupid to write a proper review of this, some scattered thoughts:

    The sand seems so ominously terrifying, it's like a manifestation of time (of course) but also futility of life coming to bury you.

    Much of the blurb and chat around this film really hypes up the 'erotic' element, which I... just did not get? Not a particularly erotic film to me.

    I thought consciously "this is like Misery but with existentialism" and "man, this would absolutely suck" a few times.

    loved the euro-framed vision of america, reminded me of a John Ford western, it made it alien and familiar simultaneously, the colours were pretty special, everyone seemed suitably lonely.
