    Lessons of Darkness

There was a moment in elementary school, sometime between gr. 3 and 5, I can’t quite recall,  where we were well into our Unit of Inquiry course on climate change when my teacher told the class the world was running out of fossil fuels, that we may not have them for much longer, and I remember the class entering a bit of a frenzy. Similar rhetorical questions echoed the classroom of 9 and 10-year-olds:

“What are we going to do?”…

    “In here, time stops.”

Translating the inexplicable feelings that alienate and isolate us through the sensory tremors that bring us together—sound, image, and time. Seeking solace through meaning and understanding, only to find connection through contradiction and ambiguity instead, all while morbid curiosity never ceases. Every emerging filmmaker: “I would do anything to be recognized for my work and be accepted in Hollywood.”

Me: “I would do anything to be recognized for my work and be accepted into a triangular relationship with Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender by proxy.”

    “I feel nothing.”

🚨The Russo Brothers have officially infiltrated A24 🚨

Was expecting this to sort of be A24’s No Way Home, but was not expecting this to also be A24’s Free Guy, Deadpool, and The Lego Movie.

I feel like talking way too much shit against this movie, but this movie already made me feel like shit enough to not want to spend anymore time writing about it or expelling that onto others who’ll genuinely connect with this thing.…

If Kevin Spacey and Jared Leto can both snag Oscar noms this year, I can die knowing the world got exactly what it deserved.
