Before last night, I had never knowingly listened to the Talking Heads.
After last night, I want to listen to every single thing the Talking Heads ever did. At least five times.
Jonathan Demme must've had a Midas Touch, because this movie was some kind of alchemy, man. I deliberately went into Stop Making Sense completely blind, and it wound up being one of the best cinematic experiences I've had all year. The staging, the lighting, the choreography, the songs, the band... I wanted to see it again the instant it finished, and am currently mainlining the soundtrack album as I type until I can do so.
