An introduction for anyone who might be diving deep into film for the first time. All these movies are on this list for different reasons. Some are obvious classics that have been passed along for the better part of a century. Others are genre staples. Some are the most experimental or influential from a certain Director. Some of these contain iconic elements like certain performances, characters, plots etc. others might be personal favorites of mine. I tried to span a very long amount of time and offer a lot of variety, although ultimately this is definitely skewed towards my taste.
