So this movie was terrible but hear me out. It’s almost good if you think of it as a Batman story.

So Lisbeth Salander is Batman. She has trackers and gadgets and even drives a Lamborghini for her bat mobile and a Ducati for her bat bike. And is a true vigilante stopping bad guys no matter the rules she breaks.

The villain is a combo of the red hood meets scarecrow.

Alfred/Oracle is played by her hacker buddy. He’s…

A really incredible analysis on the film here

This was the final film I watched from Von Triers Depression Trilogy. I felt like I had to work my way up to it. I’m glad I did because I feel like I wouldn’t have dared to continue or known what to expect had I not watched Nymphomaniac Volumes 1&2 and Melancholia. Nymphomaniac prepared me for his darkness, brutality and frankness for approaching controversy and philosophy. Melancholia primed me for his breathtaking…

My wife and I kept pausing and commenting:
    Oh of course…
This should have been a tv show
    This was a reshoot
    Should have been a show
    Who is this
See this is a whole arc in the show

Fun movie. Came in with no expectations. Had fun. Watched at home on Disney+ so we could pause and get snacks etc.  Fun popcorn movie. Good fight choreography. Good humor loved Awkwafina and Ben Kingsley as comedic relief. Also really enjoyed the creatures in Ta Lo. Probably one of the better Marvel introductions to a new character.

Brilliant trip of a film. I am blown away and still dizzy. I think my theater caught a bit of cult madness watching this. We gasped and giggled and shook as we experienced this story together. It is not for the faint of heart. It is graphic and unapologetic and manic. Wow I can’t believe I got to see this in theaters and the group was all in for it!

Central services. We do the work, you do the pleasure.

I love Gilliams eye. Everything feels lived  in and intentional.  He does dystopian right and it’s almost scary how prophetic his vision was making this. He can suck you in with fantasies and terrify moments later with horror, heartbreak and an overwhelming feeling of helplessness. It’s almost manic but dances the fine line.

He really pulls out a bag of tricks for this film. Creative long cuts show the impressive…
