Was really pulling for this but unfortunately left disappointed. Very in line with a lot of modern “elevated” horror where it’s very pretty throughout, lotta foreboding atmospheric dread, couple gruesome images toward the end, but not really gruesome enough to justify how long it takes to get there.
In a screenwriting workshop, I would have suggested making the second act break the first, getting to The Shit faster and dealing with the aftermath. I wasn’t in a screenwriting workshop with…

Funny movie. Kind of a combo of the tones of the different shows. Very curious how it would play to someone unfamiliar with the character.
Laughed out loud more often than at most movies.

DOG?: yes Alan is in a photograph with a dog at one point.

Gauzy New England ennui. The modern world is very depressing. Healthcare is a human right.
Some nice characterization here. Wears the low budget on its sleeve. Captivating lead performance from Hannah Lee Thompson. Here’s hoping she gets a bit part in some bigger indie soon and leapfrogs up to some “oh look it’s her” status.

DOG?: yeah a sheltie! And some good goats. Solid animal content right here

All the reviews are like “wow capitalism really got its ass handed to it with this one” which like no shit. But that doesn’t mean they can just skip having a logical ending.

I like stavros from cum town’s review and mostly agree with that though I didn’t get shawarma wish I had.

I will be saying “la Panna cotta es el mensaje” every time someone mentions panna cotta now.

DOG?: yeah weirdly enough. Little wiener dog for a little bit
