What you just did was mean.

I wanted to watch something released in 2022 that my brothers would enjoy, and this really hit the spot. It’s not the best movie ever— it’s paced way too quickly, has some poor writing, and overall certain decisions that don’t play well. It’s also extremely unoriginal. Like I feel as if a movie almost exactly like this is released every couple years.

However, I actually found it to be pretty funny. While the jokes…

    Pressure forms diamonds

Really awesome concept, but it’s executed terribly. This is possibly on of the messiest films I’ve ever seen tonally; it plays itself dead serious at certain points, but it’s undercut by comic moments and plot lines throughout. Speaking of plot, the first half almost didn’t have one at all, and the second half only improved on that a minute touch. It was anchored by two really solid performances from Miles Teller and Chris Hemsworth though, so that was cool. Overall however, extremely disappointing.

This is one of the best looking Pixar movies ever. Both in terms of…

    “Rosebud”

I feel like I’ve said this before, but for a film to hold up after almost 80 years it has to be an extremely impressive work. For the most part, Citizen Kane does that.

It’s a great looking movie: the framing, cinematography, everything just looks extremely nice. It’s scored beautifully, I’m a sucker for a true orchestral score, and this has that. I know that’s more just because it was made in the forties, but I still loved it. It…
