My first trip to a movie theatre since I saw "Tenet" in September. I honestly felt some excitement while finding a seat among a surprising number of people in the auditorium.
Anyway, "A Quiet Place Part II" is fine. The strong acting and technical skill from the predecessor are present here, but this is the case of a sequel that lacks the original's freshness. The movie's world is not explored much and no risks are being taken. However you think and feel about the first movie, you'll most likely react the same way towards the sequel.
While I hesitant to recommend it, I admit "Part II" succeeds in being tense and not overstaying its welcome (I actually think the movie ends without much of a third act.). I always admire movies and shows that utilize silence and visual storytelling to their best advantage. The movie often works even when a sequence is a bit too drawn out, kind of dumb, or predictable. When (not if) the next movie comes out, I really hope things are shaken up instead of simply following a formula.
