I'm not kidding when I say this - David Lowery's A Ghost Story is one of the most beautiful and unique things I have ever seen in my entire life.
Everything was so ethereal and cosmic that I couldn't help but be transported into the world of the film.
The lingering shots are something totally different and unique, not used much in Hollywood today - and they are used to the fullest extent here - signifying a lingering life form interconnecting and weaving time fragments together, ultimately re-birthing and going through time and history once again.
It's a meditation on time and loss. Casey Affleck is time. He is history, and what happens next made me weep like a little baby in the theater.
The pie scene > cinema.
My first 5/5 of the year is truly something special. Please, if this film is playing at a theater near you - GO TO IT! It's a beautiful experience that sadly is something rare amidst all the blockbusters and cheap horror / comedies.
Skip Spider-Man: Homecoming and see this. You will not regret it.
