*the score I would give this is closer to a 4.75/5 than a 4.5/5, so I rounded it down to 4.5/5*

Greta Gerwig’s [1982-] “Little Women” is less a by-the-book adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s [1832-1888] classic 1868 novel than an interpretation. As such, Gerwig’s film won’t be for purists of the source material. Because a film that’s a blockbuster on the scale of “Avengers: Endgame” doesn’t come every year—or even once every five years. No, “Endgame” is an EVENT—and that’s reflected in the film’s absurd earnings ($1.029 Billion in three days) and status as seizing…

“But who made animals of them [farmers]? You did, damned samurai! Whenever you fight, you burn villages, destroy crops, take away food, rape women, enslave men, kill them if they resist. Do you hear, you damned samurai?”— Kikuchiyo (Toshiro Mifune)
