"Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" is about two small-town singers chase their pop star dreams at a global music competition, where scheming rivals, high stakes, and onstage mishaps test their bond.
I've never heard of Eurovision Song Contest, but I was really looking forward to this movie because I like Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, and also the director who made "Wedding Crashers" which I thought it was decent. And I found this movie kinda disappointing.
Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams are pretty good in this movie, I like their performance and their chemistry in this movie. I sorta enjoyed the songs and covers in this movie, I like that they put an "ABBA" song in the opening, but I hate that most of the songs are autotuned. They were a few jokes that I laughed and a cameo of Graham Norton.
But, The writing is terrible, most of the jokes including the jokes from Will Ferrell are unfunny and old now, the sex jokes are cringy, and the dialogues and stereotypes are awful. The story is convoluted and flat, and the plot is boring and very predictable.
Overall, this movie is mediocre. If you love Eurovision Song Contest, you should watch or skip this movie. It has good acting, great songs, but you'll find the comedy awful.
