What matters in a movie is not reality, but what can draw imagination from it.
"the world is very cruel to girls".
Shirley tries to use all of her experience as a woman within a particularly masculine society to write a book; Rose presents herself in the environment and situation, bringing a connection between the two. In a totally macho and oppressive context, the film shows how much it can destroy and afflict a woman. Ironical dialogues demonstrate the dominant male environment; in addition to the impeccable text and performance, one cannot fail to speak of all the narrative and photography that do not leave the dejesar.
A brilliant film.
