James’s review published on Letterboxd:
There will never be another film like The Holy Mountain.
It’s like nothing I have ever seen. Jodorowky has crafted something original in every single sense of the word. In terms of social commentary, the movie tries to pack in as much as possible, commenting on religion, consumerism, art, politics, war, and our perception of reality in general, but it never feels bloated. The Holy Mountain is quite possibly a life changing experience that is for sure slept on. Probably one of the best films I’ve ever seen.
