I remember when I watched this in theaters... Two older couples walked out after the baby, others walked out at other points. After it was over roughly 2/3 of the people remaining there were not happy.
I'm not sure why they seemed to feel that way, it's pretty disappointing that they could not connect with the emotions of anxiety this film gave me - being so utterly desolate, with things going to shit all around you, and your parents, the only people that you'd know would love and protect you, begin to mistrust you, to fear you; and your best case scenario is they cast you out instead of outright burning you alive.
This movie stirred up a lot of emotions that perturbed me and it is a little sad that others couldn't feel that too.
