AOC genuinely seems like the most sincere, honest, kindest person to ever grace the American people and I really, really hope she prevails in everything she wishes to accomplish

    Black Mirror: Smithereens

Topher Gace is living his best life when he has a man-bun, but also love the social commentary in this and both live and hate how this significant event in these people’s lives is reduced to ephemeral confetti that people forget and dismiss with one look and swipe.

A little on the nose, a little tongue in cheek, a little tip-toeing, a little uh-ohing, a little hopeful, a little oh damning, and a lot of laughing.

    Black Mirror: Striking Vipers

I'm extremely wary that as Black Mirror has continued on it has attracted the likes of bigger and bigger stars - and I fear that this allows some of the story to be sacrificed for spectacle or star power. This didn't feel like it belonged all that much in the Black Mirror world, and for that reason, I'm out....

... until I watch the next episode.

Maybe with each rewatch this will get better and better.... But I don't think I have 30 years to give to this film.

  • Little Shop of Horrors

    Little Shop of Horrors

This film holds up so well after 33 years that it dwarfs any CGI film that looks dated after 5 years. This is the magic of practical effects. This special screening was the directors cut, shown for the first time in a cinema, with a Q&A from Ellen Greene and an introduction from Frank Oz who said that if he made this today, he wouldn't be able to make this film without using CGI as that is the nature of the film industry today, and I think he is sadly right.

An absolute triumph from Olivia Wilde, especially for a directorial debut, one of the finest I've ever seen and it honestly feels like she's going to go on to do amazing things in her directing career and I was here at the beginning where it all started. History in the making.

so many things about this were refreshing, but can Taco Bell really be that good?
