    Fear Street: 1666

personally don’t think this trilogy was executed nearly as well as it could have but it made some points lol

fuck generational privilege white men are evil cops are evil they have no issues rewriting history to fit their narrative and murdering those that stand in their way , usually the underprivileged and targeted.

also all the witches i know irl are also lesbians scorned by society so this checks out

the first movie i’ve seen in theaters in over a year. god i missed theaters. i’ve felt good the last few days, because of summer or cancer season maybe? because i’m setting time aside for myself for the first time in what seems like a long while? not sure. but regardless this is the most stable my mood has felt in months and i’m thankful for it.

the scene changes were always simultaneously jarring and seamless, i was swept away by this movie. it was also incredibly funny with very honest, masterfully acted characters. it’s interesting to see how the different people seemed to define humanity, hope, and “doing the right thing” (i.e the protesters, the american scientist, the daughter).

some of the pacing was off but overall an entertaining movie which beautifully blends western and scifi tropes! there was very detailed world building (i.e. through the variety of ships, guns, jobs, cultures, space suits, languages, and terminology)

....also love that it was filmed 2 hours away from where i live, i was just observing the plant life the whole time

  • Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant

was a slow start but after the circus sequence featuring chelsea’s dagger by the fratellis, it got infinitely more entertaining. albeit still an absolute train wreck with an emotionally devoid main lead. also i would die for octa the spider or the snake boy played by almost famous heartthrob Patrick Fugit
