Manny Humphrey’s review published on Letterboxd:
I went into this expecting a technical flex and not much else. Imagine my surprise when, by the end of the film, I was leaning forward in my seat whispering the ”Come on man run! Watch out..oh shit run!” to myself.
I was completely enthralled by this. Sure the story is as barebones as it gets. Yeah, the protagonists are pretty one-note. That didn't stop me from gasping every time someone shot a gun at them or an explosion happened in their immediate vicinity.
The amazing cinematography (THE DEAK!!) and the score are the stars here for sure; this is very much a technical exercise first and foremost I would say. But I’ll be damned if I didn't love the whole package.
PLEASE see this in a theater while you can.
