An unthinkably dark film for the 1990s. Hard to believe that it got a theatrical release. Cage is compelling and despite some unevenness throughout, the ending still packs a thoughtful punch.

A movie that's always fun to revisit with new friends. There's enough double-pupil surprises and shocking phantasmagoric imagery to keep everyone interested. After seeing EVENT HORIZON and this film in close proximity, it's clear Sam Neill is well overdue for a return to horror.

Feels like a dream: a lot of cool stuff going on, and people are talking. But none of it makes any sense.

A great movie and any that oppose this truth will be consumed by the Great Worms of Arrakis.
