Bizarre, weird yet great to look at for sure but I couldn’t get into it (again, musicals aren’t my thing, they’re some that I like though). Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard (many praising Adam which is good but come on, give this French Queen love too, she owned the first hour IMO) are very good while Simon Helberg puts in some strong support. It’s got great cinematography just like I touched on. I did admire Carax’s poetic direction in this, I haven’t seen his other movies especially Holy Motors but I might have to catch up on his filmography. Even though I didn’t find much to like from this despite the positives above, I did admire & appreciated what Leos Carax and the actors was going for here.
