Very cute of Disney to make a movie about the dangers of nostalgia while literally engaging in nostalgia-fuelled, corporate property-mining. I can appreciate the sentiment, but that still doesn't save Lightyear from being a mostly rote, unimpressive affair either. The movie itself isn't necessarily all that disappointing, but its existence is. It's sad to see Pixar's recent upward trajectory with creative projects like Soul and Turning Red curbed by more safe shlock based on existing franchise material. The saving grace of this movie is that I really love cats.
tl;dr: Sox is one of the best things Pixar's ever made, Lightyear is not.
